Ukrainian Easter Market Fair

It’s getting to that time! We are less than two weeks away from our Ukrainian Easter Market Fair on April 1st! We invite you to please join our Pysanky workshop.

In this class we’ll demonstrate how to make pysanky (PIH-sahn-kih), Ukrainian decorated Easter eggs.

Pysanky are made by drawing wax lines on a raw egg using a stylus called a kistka, then dipping the egg into a dye bath after each wax application. Finally, the wax is removed for a spectacular reveal! It’s like doing batik, but on eggs instead of fabric.

You will see traditional techniques, using special materials. If you like to draw, design, or make things, and would like a new craft skill to add to your repertoire, this is for you!

At the end of this class, you’ll have a beautifully decorated Easter egg!

Please head to our Facebook page and find our event “Ukrainian Easter Market Fair”, where you will find the ticket link to sign up!

We look forward to seeing you there!
